Recently, 9th-grade English literature students held a mock trial for one of the characters, Rainsford, from a story they read called, The Most Dangerous Game. Each student was assigned a side and presented their opening statements and arguments for either the prosecution or the defense based on information from the story.  Two students presented at a time, and the remaining students acted as jury members and decided whose arguments were based more on reason, logic, and which were more moving.
