AIS-Salzburg has a rolling admissions process whereby applications can be accepted throughout the year and a waiting list is created only after all dormitory spaces have been filled. We recommend, therefore, that your applications be submitted and complete before May 31 of each year. This is especially important if you require a visa to enroll in our school as the process can take up to eight weeks to complete successfully.

Payment Schedule for New Enrollments
The published tuition, Capital Levy and required fees for new students are due according to the following schedule:
A. August 1: For all new students enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year
B. September 1: With a 2% increase in tuition rate
C. In 4 Instalments by agreement: (1) 25% upon enrollment; (2) 25% by September 1; (3) 25% by December 1; (4) 25% by February 1, with a 4% increase of the published tuition rate
- All invoices for tuition, capital levy and required fees are issued upon reception of the admission agreement for the 2025-2026 school year.
- A 5% reduction of tuition is granted for returning students who submit the admission agreement before July 1, 2025 and make full payment before August 1, 2025.
- The school administration retains the right to increase enrollment annually based upon the inflation rate and other considerations
- The school will charge a 5% penalty for all tuition payments made after October 1, 2025 unless an agreement, signed previous to September 1, 2025 has been signed. However, a 5% penalty will also be charged for all installment payments overdue by more than 30 days.
- The Capital Levy is deposited in a ⁄ savings account at the bank and will be withdrawn only to fund capital improvements as communicated by the school administration.
- Enrollments after August 1, 2025 must be paid for within 10 days of reception of the admission agreement.
- Enrollment represents a private contract between the parents or guardians of the student and the school administration regardless of any arrangement the parents or guardians may have with a third party who pays tuition and fees. The parents or guardians remain legally responsible for the payment of tuition and fees.
- By signing the admission agreement, the parents or guardians agree to the financial conditions of the American International Schools GmbH.
- The application fee and capital levy are non-refundable.
- Students that enroll after the school year has begun will be charged a tuition rate that reflects the number of weeks remaining in the school year following entrance as a percentage of the total tuition for the year.
- Parents or guardians with two or more children in the school will receive a 5% sibling discount on the youngest child’s tuition rate and will be required to pay the Capital Levy once only.
- In cases of non-payment beyond three months, AIS-Salzburg reserves the right to dismiss the student from enrollment and residence at the school.
- The AIS-Salzburg administration reserves the right to withhold official transcripts, diplomas and other official documentation if the student account is in arrears at the end of any given school year.
- All other invoices issued by the school are to be paid within 10 days
- Students who receive a scholarship or other financial assistance which reduces the published tuition rate, remain liable for the full payment of all fees that are applicable and under the stated conditions and schedule of payment published in the admission agreement.
Payment Schedule for Returning Students / Re-Enrollments
The published tuition, Capital Levy and required fees for new students are due according to the following schedule:
A. June 1: For all students re-enrolled for the next school year with 5% reduction of tuition rate.
B. August 1: For all students re-enrolled for the next school year at the published tuition rate.
C. September 1: For all students re-enrolled for the next school year with a 2% increase in tuition rate.
D. In 4 Instalments by agreement: (1) 25% as of July 1; (2) 25% by September 1; (3) 25% by December 1; (4) 25% by February 1, with a 4% increase of the published tuition rate

Withdrawals and Refunds
Parents or guardians that voluntarily withdraw their child from the school during the school year are liable for payment of any trimesters begun by the student. Only unstarted trimester terms will be refunded along with any funds in the student incidentals account. All payments of tuition and fees, excepting the Capital Levy and Application Fee, are refunded in full should a student not arrive and begin the school year on the published starting date.
Should a student be dismissed for inappropriate actions in direct violation of the school’s fundamental expectations following review by the AIS-Salzburg Disciplinary Committee along with the school administration, no refund of tuition or fees will be granted.
